California Love

Earlier this month, I met my sisters Steff and Lisa in Los Angeles for a girls weekend. Emily couldn't make it because of work and school and we really missed her. We hope she can join us next year.

We stayed with my Aunt and Uncle in Redondo Beach. The weather was perfect, we couldn't have asked for a better weekend. We had so much fun!

Each morning we headed to the beach for a morning jog. This was our view, absolutely beautiful!

Lisa and Steff at Pinkberry The new Blood Orange flavor was delicious.

We were so close to the Hollywood sign, we had to get pictures. Steff took this picture.

I love using Instagram and all the digital filter options

3rd Street Promenade, I can't believe how nice the Santa Monica Place Mall is now. They were starting to do the renovations when I moved away.

Looking at 3rd Street Promenade from the Mall. I still can't believe how great the weather was that weekend.

Lisa and Steff

One night we got back in time to see the sunset in Manhattan Beach, it was amazing.

Another sunset picture, Steff took this one.

One of our traditions is to go to Coogies Beach Cafe in Malibu. My aunt and uncle took us there years ago and it's been a tradition ever since. We love to go there and try to spot any celebrities. We were lucky this time, Lisa spotted the singer Pink.

Pink has the black hat on, she was there with her husband Carey Hart and their baby. Thanks to Lisa for taking this picture, she did a great job.

After brunch, we went to the beach in Malibu.

We stopped by Crumbs bakery in Malibu for a treat

Orla Kiely Collaboration

I love when designers do collaborations. One of the recent ones I've read about is Orla Kiely's collaboration with Uniqlo. I have to admit I had never heard of Uniqlo until we went to New York City back in September and they had just opened their flagship store. It's a store out of Japan that is comparable to the Gap here in the United States. She is also working on a new bedding collection with Bed Bath and Beyond that should hit stores in May.

I've always liked Orla Kiely's prints and I'm in love with some of her bags.

Sadly, she didn't do any bags for her line with Uniqlo. I really wish she had. I'm not totally in love with the Uniqlo Orla Kiely line. It's just a bunch of T-shirts and a few button downs. I do like the scarves, I would definitely wear some of the scarves.

I'm just hoping the Bed, Bath and Beyond bedding line is better. Here's a photo from Apartment Therapy.

Hopefully she'll use colors in her bedding line like the wallpaper in her NYC store and some of the fun prints from her bags.

Herb & Dorothy

Tonight we watched a documentary called Herb & Dorothy. This one's been on my list to see for awhile. It's about a husband and wife who have dedicated their lives to collecting art on their modest salaries. It's amazing, they have one of the largest contemporary art collections and it's all in their studio apartment in Manhattan. This is such a wonderful movie, I absolutely loved it! If you have any interest in art, this is a must see!
