Brunch on the Bridge

Today is Jeff's birthday and to celebrate we participated in Brunch on the Bridge yesterday. It was so much fun! Portland closes down the Hawthorne Bridge for a few hours and they put grass and trees on the bridge so it looks like a big park. Everyone brings blankets and food. Now every time I drive over the Hawthorne Bridge, I'll remember our picnic spot.

The entrance to the bridge. It was a little overcast, but still a nice day.

Voodoo Doughnuts was trying to break a world record with the largest box of doughnuts.

All the great crazy Voodoo doughnut flavors. Toward the end of the event, they were giving out boxes of doughnuts.

The view from our blanket.

It was so fun to sit on the blanket, relax and enjoy the morning.

Another view on the bridge.

There was a lot of people watching going on. I guess that's why they say "Keep Portland Weird". I'm not sure why these two were dressed as flowers, but apparently they wanted to make a statement.

The guy's face in this picture cracks me up every time I see it.

We had a wonderful time and it was a great way to celebrate Jeff's birthday.

Tour de Cure

On Saturday, Jeff participated in the Tour de Cure bike ride to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. A friend from Jeff's MBA program got a team of six together and they each did the 43 mile ride. Way to go team! I think that's pretty amazing and I'm really proud of him.

The ride looked like tons of fun and I really enjoyed seeing all the riders cross the finish line. I might even consider doing it next year.
