Designer Jessica Helgerson

I've noticed designer Jessica Helgerson from some of the design blogs I read and I LOVE her style. Not only is she a great interior designer, she is from Portland! Yay Portland! She has been named as one of the top 25 young designers in America by House Beautiful magazine. Jessica also did some design work for the restaurant Andina, which one of our favorite places to eat here in Portland. Here is Jessica's website, make sure you click on her portfolio to see all the amazing projects she has done. Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

Valentine's Day Wreath

I got together with a couple of girls from the ward and we each made this cute wreath. I had such a fun time visiting with the other girls and learning a new craft. The wreath is a bit time consuming, at least it was for me, but I loved making it. Good thing I finished it before Valentine's day, but I'm headed out of town so I won't get to enjoy it very long. I guess I can always make another one for a different holiday.

Here's the link for the tutorial if you would like to make one too.

Ugly Betty

I'm so sad to hear that ABC is canceling Ugly Betty. It's definitely one of my favorite shows. I have a lot of fun memories of watching Ugly Betty and eating Chinese Chicken Salads with my old roommate Courtney. I just can't believe that ABC is letting this show go, what are they thinking? I'm sure I'm not the only one in love with this show. Here are some pictures from the ABC website.

Food, Inc.

A few weeks ago, Jeff and I watched Food, Inc. It's a documentary about food production in the United States. I found it to be incredibly informative and interesting. I have to admit, I've never thought much about food and the process it goes through before arriving at the grocery store. After seeing this film, I think twice about buying certain foods and I have a whole new perspective on the subject.

Quote

As I've been contemplating about some things I would like to accomplish in the upcoming year, I came across this quote from a blog I read called La Dolce Vita. I think it's a great reminder for me to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone.

One Year Wedding Anniversary

Today is our One Year Wedding Anniversary!

I can't believe how fast time flies, we've had a blast this last year and can't wait for another fun filled year. Last night we celebrated by going out to eat after our church's Trunk-or-Treat. We went to Laurelhurst Market for dinner and then to Papa Haydn's for dessert. Both places were delicious!
